Published by Ed. J Burrows and Co Ltd for the Dunlop Rubber Company in 1931 it was reprinted in 1983 and again in 1993 by The Veteran-Cycle Club.
This latest edition has a full index prepared by David Hibberd and has the corrections originally in felt tip pen in the 1983 version included in the typeset text.
Sammy traces the development of cycles and cycling from the early days when James Starley played a prominent roll in the development of the industry up to the early 1930 when the book was written.
The present reprinting has been undertaken by The Veteran-Cycle Club which feels that “this book which is essential to students of cycle and cycling history, should be available to all.”
