Summer Camp 2025 – Fleece Meadow, Kington, Herefordshire

m  ForThe simple format for summer camp has proved popular for the past 2 years so this will continue for 2025.  This year we are camping at Fleece Meadow in Kington, Herefordshire, a beautiful, if a little hilly, cycling area.  Graham Nevett of Hereford Section is the event organiser.

An area of the field is being set aside for use by the Club, there are no electric hook-ups in this area but, if you require one, book direct with the site at:  https://www.fleecemeadow.com/home or telephone 01544 231235 – you will need to book early as the number of pitches with this facility is limited.

If you would like to attend this event but do not wish to camp, the old YHA hostel is now privately run as Kington Accommodation providing comfortable and affordable private rooms with the use of a large kitchen dining area and TV Lounge – see https://www.kingtonaccommodation.co.uk/.  Other accommodation options can be found at  https://www.kingtontourist.info/.

Kington has a good range of pubs, restaurants, cafes, tea rooms and takeaways and an evening get-together will be arranged locally.  There is also a Co-op supermarket close to the site for everyday needs, plus a delicatessen supplying local produce.

The price this year is on a per person per night basis for on-site camping with a charge of £5 for every adult attending, whether on or off-site, to cover administrative expenses.  The cost per night, if camping on a rally pitch, is:

Adults:  Members £12; Non-Members £14
Adult Family Members:  £12
17 and under:  Family Members Free; Non-Members £2 (no admin fee)

This will mean that, for a single adult member staying for 7 nights, the cost will be £84 + £5 making a total of £89.   For a couple, with a family member 17 or under, the cost of the whole week will be £168 + £10 totalling £178.  For non-members there is an extra charge of £2 per night.

We can only accept bookings from V-CC members and their invited friends I’m afraid, but if you would like to join the Club you can do so at https://v-cc.org.uk/join/.

Bookings can be made using the form below. While every effort will be made to respond within 24 hours it may take a little longer – please be kind as we will respond as quickly as possible! On submission of this form you will receive a receipt for your booking and details of how to pay. Confirmation and joining instructions will be sent to you via email after payment has been made.

Bookings and payments must be received by 20 July 2025
