Veteran-Cycle Club’s Glavonwits Section organises rides, displays and events throughout the year in the Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and British/Bath area. Their second ride of the year was held on Saturday, 29th March entitled the “March Hare Ride”, meeting at the Flying Monk Brewery at Hullavington and targeting early machines.

The ride attracted 26 riders on 23 machines, of these, five were pre-1900; six were built between 1901 and 1914 and a further eight were from 1915 to 1939. Of these there were two 1894 New Howes; two Marriot and Cooper Olympia Tandem Tricycles dating from the mid-1890s and three Dursley Pedersens. The oldest rider was 90 years of age! Who says that the V-CC no longer caters for true veteran machines?

The next Glavonwits ride is on Sunday 6th April and will consist of a 10 mile sedate loop rides including a stop at Hill Village Hall for refreshments. If anyone is interested in joining us contact the section via https://v-cc.org.uk/about-the-club/local-groups/
